Your Automobile Insurance Needs

If you have Auto Insurance Exposure, all your assets are at risk every time you climb behind the wheel!

Don’t buy auto insurance until you read this!

Your Greatest Financial Exposure is Your Car

Auto insurance is such a basic necessity in California that many think all policies are alike. Even worse, they assume their insurance agents structure their policies to correctly cover their individual needs. Unfortunately, this just isn’t true. I routinely see middle to upper income families with the same low coverages as college kids with no assets! This can create an auto insurance exposure that can wipe you out financially and is one of the Worst Auto Insurance Mistakes We All Make.

Did you know that your auto is your greatest exposure to your assets being wiped out from a lawsuit? You face that reality every time you climb behind the wheel. It can happen in the blink of an eye.

The roads are a bit wet, you hit your brakes, but you simply can’t stop in time to avoid hitting the new Tesla in front of you. If you’re lucky, no one is seriously injured, but either way, this is where the problems begin.

Suddenly you are facing serious financial concerns:

  • Do you have enough coverage?
  • Will it cover replacing his car (property damage)?
  • Will it cover if he or a party in his car sues you due to injury, loss of work or overtime (liability)?
  • What if he can’t perform the main duties of his current occupation (doctor, electrician, engineer, construction), how much will that cost?

This all sounds like the worst-case scenario. Unfortunately, it can get worse! What if he or another person in his car dies? While you may simply be thinking about your own car… Will my car, that I’m still paying on, be covered for necessary repairs so I can get to work and pay my bills. If you have full coverage, “comprehensive & collision”, you should be fine in that regard. But with regard to the other driver’s possible damages and injuries, that’s a different and potentially very costly question.

Critical Considerations for Your Policy to Avoid Auto Insurance Exposure

Ask yourself a few questions. Did my agent ask me about my occupation, or my income, or what type of assets I own? These are just a few of the critical factors that your agent should know before making recommendations that affect the protection of you and your family. Ultimately, it’s always your choice – so be careful. If you don’t clearly understand the policy your agent has prepared, ASK QUESTIONS! They should explain in a way that you clearly understand. If they don’t, find another agent who does because this is not the right person or company for you to trust with your personal and financial safety.
